Fleetwood vs Preston by UK-Selections
Fleetwood Town's Conor McLaughlin (international duty) will miss out against his former side, Nick Haughton, Danny Andrew and Jamille Matt will also miss out, while Stephen Jordan (hamstring) has missed the last three-matches due to injury and is uncertain for this match. Preston meanwhile, will have Aston Vila's Callum Robinson (on loan) and Bailey Wright (both international duty) unavailable for this clash.
Now, the bet. These two teams despite both chasing promotion/play offs, are in good relations. Fleetwood Town's manager Garry Alexander has spent most of his career playing for Preston and according to him, there are no words what this team (Preston) did for his development. This point maybe is irrelevant, but the way I see it, this will be match without rough play from both teams. Preston is the more quality team here, bigger budget, salaries, team value on the market...
But, Fleetwood are good home team and I can't trust Preston too much and I can't eliminate the option this game to end scoring draw. In that situation, I am taking Preston's talisman - Joe Garner, player who scored 20 goals and is in race for League's Top scorer with Chesterfield's E. Doyle (21) and Swindon's A. Williams (18). Last season, Garner scored 19 goals in 37 matches, while this season, Joe scored 20 in just 28 app's. His progress is obvious and he is developing into a great finisher.
The other option(s) up-front for Preston are J. Beckford, P. Gallagher and K. Davis (all three with age of 30+). J. Beckford was tremendous talent in the period around 2007-2010 when he played for Leeds United, when he scored 70+ goals in those seasons. After that, no success with other teams, many loans... The only player in Preston who is on fire and is up trended is Joe Garner. No matter of the outcome, I see Garner scoring.
