Croatia vs Norway by Sors
Croatia: Subasic – Srna, Vida, Corluka, Pranjic – Modric, Brozovic – Olic, Rakitic, Perisic – Mandzukic
Norway: Nyland – Elabdellaoui, Nordtveit, Forren, Linnes – Skjelbred, Tettey, Johansen – Elyounoussi, Daehli – Nielsen
Croatia is a team with undeniable high quality and at least for me, the main favorite for the top spot in this group, given the fact that Italy is in a period of renewal and changes.
The hosts won ten points from the previous four games in this group (3-1-0 10/1), as the only “mistake” in this period came in the visit to Italy in November (1-1).
Dejan Lovren (def. / 2 goals), Ivan Strinic (def.), Josip Simunic (def. / 3 goals), Mateo Kovacic (midf.) and Nikola Kalinic (forw. / 6 goals) are not in the group for this match against Norway, but those five players were reserves in most of the previous four games against Malta (2-0 / home), Bulgaria (1-0 / away), Azerbaijan (6-0 / home) and Italy (1-1 / away).
Norway is on third position in group H, with nine points from the previous four games against Italy (0-2 / home), Malta (3-0 / away), Bulgaria (2-1 / home) and Azerbaijan (1-0 / away).
In the point of fact, the guests still have pretty good chances to qualify directly for EURO 2016, although it’s unlikely to happen, given the fact that Norway can hardly be compared with teams like Italy and Croatia it terms of individual qualities of the players and experience.
The guests showed certain weaknesses in defense against Italy (0-2) and Bulgaria (2-1) and I expect that team with big potential in attack like Croatia will benefit from this and will manage to score at least two goals.
Per-Mathias Hogmo will rely on the same group of players as in the last match against Azerbaijan, with the exception of Rune Jarstein (goalkeeper).
