This Grizzlies team, after Jeff Green's addition, is seen by more specialists day by day as the one who can prevent the Golden State Warriors from wining the Western Conference. With the recent Step Curry's ankle problems, they really have a good shot for catching the Warriors in the ranking. Now they are 3.5 games behind them, after coming strong in the 4th quarter yesterday and wining over a strong contender in Portland (and GSW losing in Indiana).
LA Clippers are on a surprising 4 games wining streak. I say surprising because it came after Blake Griffin has been sidelined by an elbow injury. This streak has been strongly supported by DeAndre Jordan's gameplay elevation. But for tonight he will have to fight against arguably the best defensive frontcourt in NBA, with the excellent Marc Gasol who has his best NBA season and Zach Randolph next to him.
The matchup between these two teams is strongly led by the Grizzlies, with 7 wins in the last 8 h2h games and 8 wins ATS in the last 9. let's not forget that who knocked out the Clippers from the last season's playoff: the Grizzlies. And they were not as good as they are now.
This week is coming with 2 more games in this rivalry, as they will play again in Memphis on Friday.
The guests are in a back-to-back situation, but this is a non factor as they are coming after the All Star break, so they are still rested enough and able to put up a big fight tonight.
Due to all the factors I've mentioned, I expect for tonight a hell of a hustle between these two, especially in the paint, and the Grizzlies to prevail at the end.
For my bet I'm going to back them plus 3 points, as a security factor. Pushed if they lose by exactly 3.
Let's go green!
