Monterrey vs Queretaro by MagicRat

The seventh round of games in the Clausura in Mexico sees Monterrey host Queretaro with both teams looking to get their season going.

Monterrey are currently 17th of 18 teams with four points thanks to one win and one draw. They have struggled for goals with just three goals in six matches, although two of the goals came in each of the two home mtches they have played.

Two of their three goals have come in the second half, much like the majority of the goals throughout the Apertura and Clausura with 57% of their goals coming in the second half. Furthermore, the average time of their first goal in 13 home matches in 49 minutes.

Queretaro are 14th with just one more point than their opponents courtesy of one wi and two draws. They have scored five goals in their six matches with four of them coming in the second half, including all three of their goals scored in away matches.

Over the course of th Apertura and Clausura 71% of their goals have come in the second half and the average time of their first goal scored is 57 minutes, dropping just two to 55 minutes in 11 away matches.

I think this will be a tight match with a first half that has very few, if any, goals before the opens slightly in the second half leading to more chances.
