Rojer/Tecau vs Murray/Peers by Khum
ATP 500 Rotterdam
Murray/Peers - Rojer/Tecau
I was up to bet again 2:0 on Rojer/Tecau as I expected odds around 1.65 - 1.75 for them. But when I saw the nice surprise the bookies came with, making them slightly underdogs, I said thank you and I'm gonna take it as a gift.
I can understand these odds in two situations: either the bookmakers overvalue the most recent result between these two couples, which was more a warm up match, being the first one played by both in this year, either they are just trying to manipulate the market.
At this point, on indoor hardcourt, the dutch/romanian couple is the better one. I'd say it's rather a surprise to have in a indoor final Murray and Peers which started as lucky losers.
As I've stated before, Rojer and Tecau are playing especially well on home courts. I've seen them live almost a year ago beating Murray/Peers in Bucharest even after a horrible first set.
Now they are much better and much homogenous than at that point and indoor hardcourts are the best background for their game.
The british/aussie couple came up yesterday after being led by a set, but they wouldn't be here without two withdrawals. Brother Andy Murray has retired from the doubles contest so they entered the draw as lucky losers and Benneteau/Vaselin have withdrawn from the 2nd round and offered them a walkover.
Meanwhile Rojer/Tecau won straight sets against Lindstedst/Matkowski, Qureshi/Zimonjic and Begemann/Haase.
I see in this game at least a tie-break, but Rojer/Tecau were extremely efficient in tie-breaks lately and that will work as well in case the match would need a super tie-break to be decided.
So I'll go with the better team and also the home team, trusting that they will win this trophy and they'll both enter from monday in ATP Doubles Top10 for the first time since they play together.
