Apparently we have a game between two of the contenders for the NBA title in this season.
At least the Mavricks stated that when they've traded the all star point guard Rajon Rondo from Boston, one month ago. I've expressed at that time my doubts on that glamoured trade and as far they've been justified, as the Mavs' wining percentege went smaller with Rondo in the squad.
So, if we look over the scoring rankings of these two sides, their ambitions seem perfectly just, as the hosts are 1st and the guests are 2nd in NBA in soring. But ... if we take a look over the numbers in points allowed, the Warriors are 15th from 30 and the Mavs are 22th from 30, so the gaps is starting to come up.
As the guys from Golden State have the best differential in NBA, averaging +11.5 ppg, their today guests are averaging 5.8 ppg, good enough for the 4th place.
In order to come closer to this game, we should see the numbers for GSW at home and for Dallas on the road: the hosts average a monster differential of 16.2 ppg in Oracle Arena while the Mavericks are at 5.3 on the road. The image goes clearer.
My point here is that a weak defense as the Mavs play is good food for the stellar offense of the best team in NBA and, as they use to on home court, I expect the Warriors to play the beast again.
The Warriors defense can keep up with the texan offense, but the Dallas defense should be blown.
I'm glad the bookies decreased a little the handicaps for GSW as a consequence of a few games under their standards. They stated in the last two matches that the alarm was a false one, the lower games being just some natural exceptions. 26p win over the Kings and 19p win in Phoenix are just enough for me to know I can still trust the Warriors, especially on home court.
The matchup disadvantage for the Mavs came out also in the 7 points loss at home against today opponents in what was the only game in this season so far between these two.
All men are healthy ad present on home side and Rajon Rondo is going to miss for the guests.
So ... let's go green!
