Roma vs Fiorentina by Rahul
Roma have been struggling for form through out January, not able to buy a victories, since their win against Udinese on 6th January and an extra time win over-time by a score of 2-1 in the previous round of the Copa Italia. The Romans have conceded in every single game bar the Udinese game in the month of January, and this has been a big cause of concern for Rudi Garcia and his team. Roma needed goals and signed Doumbia in January, but his participation in the AFCON, delays his involvement here, leaving Garcia to rely on Totti, Iturbe, Ljajic front 3 to chip in with the goals even though they have struggled up front.
Fiorentina come into this game after 2 successive draws, including a 1-1 at home against Roma exactly 1 week ago. La Viola have managed to lose only one game in the month of January, while winning 3 and drawing 2 in this period. While the rest of the league haven't noticed them, they have quietly pushed on up to 6th spot. Fiorentina have been in decent scoring form, despite Rossi being injured and players have stepped up and chipped in for the goals at various moments. Fiorentina have conceded goals in all their games leading up to 12th of December.
When its a cup game, form window tends to go out the window, however, defensive mistakes of conceding will continue to be there, so I expect this to be a good entertaining game with both teams getting on the score sheet and should probably be a high scoring game.
