Arsenal vs Aston Villa by Stoakesy

Paul Lambert takes his Aston Villa team to The Emirates on Sunday and realistically will just be looking to avoid a heavy defeat. Villa have been woeful this season and must have the most bored fans in the Premier League having gone eight hours and 42 minutes without scoring a single league goal. They have only scored 11 times in 22 Premier League matches. Arsenal on the other hand do not have a problem scoring and are the third highest scoring team in the league, behind Chelsea and Manchester City.

Arsene Wenger is likely to be without Alexis Sanchez who has a hamstring problem but new signing Paulista may make an appearance after joining from Villarreal. Wilshire, Arteta, Diaby and Debuchy are all missing. Loan signing Sinclair may make his Villa debut but Vlaar, Senderos and Joe Cole are out.

I fancy Arsenal to score a few goals against a poor Villa side and will be backing over 2.5 goals in the match. Villa have never gone six league matches without scoring in their history (they are on five going into this match) and although Arsenal will probably prove too strong we would welcome an overdue Villa goal to make sure of three or more goals overall.

Even if Joe Cole was fit he would never be fielded unless every single player from the Villa roster was injured. Such information is valuable to no one.

No matter how bad Villa are going forward there defence tends to hold up quite well, don't be surprised to see a 2-0 or 1-0
