The Dallas Mavericks are taking on the New Orleans Pelicans have seen that their new team has yet to gel in a proper way, have still manage to secure crucial wins to maintain a 30-14 record so far in the NBA including a 16-7 road record for the 2nd highest wins away from home.

The Mavericks core 5 of Chandler, Nowitzki, Parsons, Ellis and Rondo are surely championship material; and its just a matter of each one of them finding their appropriate role in the offense especially when Ellis and Nowitzki generally like to do the bulk of the scoring. The Mavericks have come out of a good stretch of games beating Minnesota, Denver and Memphis; before falling by 4 short points to Chicago 2 nights ago; and will fancy their chances against a New Orleans team who do not have Jru Holiday to run their offense.

The Pelicans have been led all season by Davis, Evans and now the final scoring breakout form from Eric Gordon; who had a disastrous 2014. He has stepped up, averaging 18 points per game over the last 3 games and the team will rely on his offense. The Mavs have won both the matchups against the Pelicans by keeping their complimentary scorers quiet, as you need a pretty dynamic player to take care of Anthony Davis, and you expect a similar strategy coming out tonight.

This is a tough game to call, but I think that the Mavericks will want to take advantage of this strong matchup that they have dominated over the recent history, and should look to secure the win
