In the group stage South Korea won all of its games by 1-0, but they did not really push it too much, dominated the game against Oman, controlled the game against Kuwait, and also managed to sneak a 1-0 win over Australia. They so far kept clean sheets in all 4 games played, the quarter final game against Uzbekistan was a bit harder for them, but after 0-0 in normal time they scored two goals in extra-time, with one of their main star players Son scoring both goals.
Iraq had a much tougher task into making it to this stage. Thanks to their win over Jordan 1-0, they managed to qualify from the group stage, than they lost 0-1 to Japan and defeated one of the weakest teams in this competition Palestine 2-0 in the final group game to take second place. Everyone expected them to lose against Iran in the quarter finals, and things were going into that direction, 1-0 Iran in the first half, but a red card for Iran turned the tie, and Iraq equalized, 3-3 after extra-time, and qualified after penalties.
I was not impressed by the defense of Iraq, Jordan had its chances, Japan was happy with a 1-0 end and missed several 2-0 chances, while Iran scored two goals against them in 10 men, and a South Korea team fully motivated in this game should win in normal time, and unlike Japan will make it 2-0 just like against Uzbekistan if given the chance. South Korea is pretty efficient in front of goal, and their defense has been perfect so far, I see them fully focussed going into this game, and I believe they will win the semi-final against Iraq in normal time by two goals or more, for me Iraq is nothing sensational, and the better team South Korea should prevail by handicap.
South Korea(-1.5)AH is my choosing for this game and odds are good.
