Anderson vs Nadal by Tennisguy

This is a round of 16 match from the Australian Open between Kevin Anderson and Rafael Nadal.

They have met only once in a meeting that took place in 2010 at the Toronto Masters which Nadal won 6-2, 7-6(6).

It's pretty clear by the odds that even the bookies are starting to doubt Nadal now after his performance with Smyczek which was poor to say the least. I say this because in these type of situation and at these stage of the tournament Anderson's odds would have easily been over 6 or 7 at least. Nadal did defeat Sela easily in his previous match but that was expected even in his current state. I think that this time it will be the end of his journey here at the Australian Open because now he is facing an opponent that seems to playing his best tennis here.

I think Nadal will find it very hard to play on Anderson's serve and I doubt he will manage to get a lot of break point opportunities. Also there is the fact that Nadal seems to have some problems with his service because he produces some very low speed first serves at least that's what happened with Smyczek.

After seeing the way Anderson played against Gasquet I have to give him a go in this match. Sure in normal circumstances and with a Nadal at 100% I never would have picked him but I doubt that the spaniard is even at 70% so I have to go with this bet.
