Mansfield vs Wycombe by TFB
The home side come into this match on a run of 3 consecutive defeats against Bury, Burton Albion and most recently, a spirited 3-2 defeat to Exeter City. The club lie in 20th position, just 1 point above the relegation zone so the last thing they need is a visit from the league leaders.
The club have dipped into the transfer market since the window opened and have brought in 5 or so new players but none of those players have currently managed to turn things around as Mansfield have lost both league games since the turn of the year. Plus, introducing 5 new players into a team can take a while to gel.
Mansfield's last outing against Exeter seemed to finish with some positives as they only went down due to an Exeter penalty. This was after Mansfield led 2-1 during the 2nd half with goals from Oliver and new loan signing, Billy Kee.
Life is pretty good for Wycombe this season, the surprise package in the league so far. They are currently undefeated in seven games and their overall away record is actually better than their home record with 26 points to 25. They have drawn their last 3 away matches but all 3 opponents are better than Mansfield in Shrewsbury, Accrington and Bury. They have also had some nice away wins in their 7 victories on the road such as Cheltenham 4-1 and Morecambe 3-1. Stevenage, Newport, Oxford, Hartlepool & Plymouth have also fallen from the visit of the leaders.
With Wycombe's top performers currently fit, I back them for the win.
