Granada vs Sevilla by Jamesington

Whilst Granada hold a moderate record at home in recent weeks, the highlight being a 1-1 draw with Valencia, they are coming up against a very strong Sevilla team, which is in good form (having won 5 of their last 6 matches).

Granada are 19th in La Liga, 20 points behind Sevilla, and have a poor record against their opponents in this match having lost each of their last 4 encounters. Sevilla will be weakened by the absence of full-back Coke but are a much better outfit than their Andalusian opponents and shouldn't be too troubled by his suspension for this game.

Aside from the vastly differing form of the two teams, one must also take into account that Granada have a very important match - in their battle against relegation - at home v fellow strugglers Real Sociedad. Are they strong enough to give 100% in both matches? I don't think so and the league game is surely of greater importance.

The last 2 games these sides contested ended 5-1 and 4-0, both times in favour of Sevilla. Away from home Sevilla have been very solid against the weaker teams in Spain and have only lost against elite opposition such as the Madrid teams and Barcelona [Bilbao is also a notoriously tough place to visit].
