Newcastle vs Everton by Marcelino

Newcastle
VS
Everton
Two mid table teams are playing and I don't understand why the odds favor the away team, Everton.

Newcastle are placed 10th place in the league, while Everton are 12th. Everton had big expectations this season but they haven't played well this season, especially defensively and are placed accordingly in midtable.

Newcastle's form looks bad on paper. They lost their last 4 games, but it's important to look deeper and see that away to Sunderland was the only bad defeat, as the other 3 were away to top teams: Man United, Tottenham and Arsenal.

At home, they have been playing well and won 4 in a row, including wins vs Liverpool and Chelsea, until their last game which they lost 1-0 with a very late goal in a derby vs Sunderland.

Everton are in poor form, losing 4 of their last 6 games in the league. On Friday, they played poorly and lost 1-0 at home to Stoke! They have failed to score in their last 2 matches! Their defending has been poor this whole season, conceeding 28 goals this season, 3rd worst defense in the league!

Everton have a few injuries ahead of this match! Their 1st choice keeper, who is very important for them, and defender Phil Jagielka both got injured in their match on Friday. John Stone and Mirallas are also doubtful. Naismith is banned for this match!

I think the 2 teams are evenly matched and the home advantage will give Newcastle the edge in this match!
