Stoke City vs Chelsea by Rahul

Chelsea have been playing well all campaign and they are sitting a top of the Barclays Premier League today. Man City have come to within a game of them but level on points since Chelsea had dropped points with a loss away to Newcastle and draws away Man Utd, Sunderland and Man City.

Chelsea will have their full squad to choose from this week which only sees the absence of Courtois but Petr Cech steps in to provide adequate cover for him. Chelsea played away from home in mid-week in the Capital One Cup with a good strength XI beating Derby County by a score of 3-1. Mourinho has already announced in his press conference that after 5 days rest, he will play his strongest possible XI in order to stop dropping points away from home. The usual suspects who have been on good form this season have been Hazard, Fabregas, Costa and even Drogba who has netted 6 goals this season in all competitions.

Stoke City have done well against some bigger teams but struggled against poorer teams. They manage to beat Arsenal 3-2; by going up 3-0 in the first half itself at home. They have even beaten Tottenham, Swansea, Man City this campaign and will feel confident of pulling off an upset against Chelsea. However the truth is, Stoke are sitting in 13th spot, conceded 21 goals while winning just 1 match out of their last 6. Stoke's highest goal scorer who has been Peter Crouch with 4; out of which 2 of them were actually feeding of scraps as some poor defenses hadn't cleared the ball clearly.

Chelsea know that victories are important at this stage of the campaign to maintain the momentum especially with a tough game against the Hammers coming on Friday and Man City on their tail; and I back Chelsea to get the business done on the Asian handicap.
