Pakistan vs New Zealand by Rahul

I personally been backing this for the last 2 games, and while he is on a good run, I thought now, why not?

Shahid Afridi is in this team first and foremost as a bowler. As a bowler he has been doing really well and has been Pakistan's main attacking weapon in the spin department especially since Ajmal and Hafeez are banned from bowling. He has taken 6 wickets in this series so far, including 3 in the last match on a flattish Sharjah track and will feel a bit more at home tonight in a more slowish Abu Dhabi track. In his last appearance in Abu Dhabi, he also nabbed 2 wickets, so that is the kind of performance I am expecting from Afridi.

On the batting front, Afridi has really stepped up his game in this series, focussing a lot on staying at the crease longer or in the case of quick scoring, really bludgeon the bowling. So far in the series he has scored 55, 27 and 61; which really makes you think he has improved as a batsman.

Afridi is also quite a good fielder and never tends to drop any catches whenever the ball comes his way. In the last game, he grabbed 2 catches as well. He generally stands at mid-on and if any batsman mistimes the ball, you can be sure Afridi is under it waiting to catch it.

The pick of 48 performance points would have landed in all of the 3 matches in the ODI series, and I expect Shahid Afridi will continue his performances tonight as Pakistan will aim to wrap up the series before the 5th game.
