Burton vs Hartlepool by TFB
Burton's home form has been mixed of late with only 1 win in 4 (1-1-2) but did win their first 5 home matches of the season. Their last home match was against 2nd placed Luton Town which they won 1-0 so perhaps showing signs of returning to the form from earlier in the season. They also have a new manager in charge, Chelsea legend Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and he seems to have had a positive impact by coming out with 7 points from playing 4 of the most in-form teams in the league (Wycombe, Exeter, Luton, Shrewsbury). It will be interesting to see how they fair against a relatively poor side but I am confident they will do the job, especially with their home fans behind them.
Burton have been without skipper Ian Sharps (foot) in recent games, while Robbie Weir (groin) is also a doubt for this weekend’s fixture. Lucas Akins is hoping to shake-off an ankle injury in time to face Pools but Phil Edwards is definitely available again after missing last week’s draw at Exeter City through suspension.
Hartlepool are in a bad way and are currently rock bottom of the entire Football League. To make matters worse they were recently knocked out of the cup by a non league side in Blyth Spartans and have also parted with their manager this week. Sam Collins will be in temporary charge for this match.
Their away form has seen them lose 6 of their last 7 away league matches and haven't won any league game in 7 matches (0-1-6).
I just can't see their next league points coming from an away game against Burton.
