Aston Villa vs Southampton by Rahul
Aston Villa will not come into this game with much confidence especially after these string of low performances. Adding to the poor performances, they will be missing a lot of players such as Vlaar, Senderos, Baker, Delph all down due to injury while forward Christian Benteke is suspended. What also tells you why this Villa side will struggle is that they have scored only 1 goal in their last 7 games, which also landed up in a loss at home to Tottenham.
Southampton come into this game with a lot of their players in form, and playing well together as a team under new manager Koeman. While everyone expected this team to go down after selling 100 million pounds worth of talent, it's infact the complete opposite with them holding their own in 2nd spot; 1 pt ahead of Manchester City. While their true test as a good outfit will come in the following 3 weeks with games against Man City, Arsenal and Man Utd; today's fixture against Aston Villa is one which they would have written up 3 points against especially with the visitors poor form. Villa have had Tadic, Schneiderlin and Pelle been in cracking form in front of goal while Fraser Forester has been brilliant between the posts having conceded just 5 goals all season, with 3 coming in their 2 losses.
Southampton have everything going for them in this game against Aston Villa, and Koeman will not settle for anything less than 3 points in this one, and I expect them to kill this game off early as well.
