Northampton vs Stevenage by TFB

Northampton
VS
Stevenage
Stevenage travel to Sixfields on Saturday afternoon looking to continue their recent climb up the L2 table as they face Northampton.

Northampton have found life difficult in L2 this year but have had some positive results at home, notably a 5-1 win over Hartlepool which finished off a nice 4 game unbeaten home run at the start of the season. 3 defeats then followed until they got back to winning ways with a 2-0 win over AFC Wimbledon. Their home record reads 4-1-3 which puts their 17th position in L2 largely down to their away form. They travelled to Rochdale on Tuesday 18th November for an FA Cup replay which they would have won but for 2 late Rochdale goals, a positive performance nonetheless. The only other negative from that game was an injury to Ryan Cresswell who will now miss the Stevenage game along with Tom Newey.

Stevenage on the other hand have been on a good run of form with only 1 league defeat in their last 5. Unfortunately for them the 3 wins in this run were all at home and they haven't won away from home in their last 5 games (0-2-3). They also have to travel to Maidstone on Thursday 20th November, only 2 days before they make the short journey to Northampton. This in itself will surely have a negative effect with less than 48 hours rest before the L2 match.

I feel that Northampton with the decent home form and a little extra rest will hold the upper hand over Stevenage in this match.
