Argentina vs Portugal by Jamesington

Argentina
VS
Portugal
This friendly match at Old Trafford should prove an exciting affair with some of the best footballers in the world present in Manchester for the game. It is likely that Di Maria, Messi, Aguero, Tevez and Higuain will all see gametime for Argentina and Portugal have their own star Cristiano Ronaldo to light up the night (with some help from the likes of Pepe, Moutinho and Nani).

4 of Argentina's last 6 friendlies have featured over 2.5 goals, they have won each of those matches. Portugal's recent schedule has seen games with less goals in them however Portugal have been taking part in a qualifying campaign and not playing a series of friendlies, like their South American counterparts; Portugal's last two friendlies have both featured over 2.5 goals.

We should also take into account that when Portugal play 'big' teams then there is nearly always goals from both sides. In their last 6 matches against teams ranked in the world top 25 (according to FIFA) both teams have scored in 5 matches, their has been over 2.5 goals in 4 of the 6 matches.

Argentina have won 11 of their last 13 matches, only losing in the World Cup final against Germany and in a friendly against Brazil, so a team which possesses so many attacking weapons is surely likely to find victory against a Portugal team which has only won 1 of it's last 4 matches not played at home. Take the value on offer for ARGENTINA TO WIN & OVER 2.5 GOALS at 2.0 with Bet365.

Of Portugal's last 5 defeats, 4 have had over 2.5 goals in the match and each of Argentina's last 3 victories has had over 2.5 goals in the match, so if they are going to win then statistics say that we will too.

Hi Juan, I see your pick but its better to play a safe and more certain hand. 1and over 2.5 is straight up expected as a goal might slip in first half and kill X/1 bet. Thanks.
