Charlotte vs Dallas Mavericks by Rahul
The Mavericks in particular this year lead in the NBA in offensive production at almost 109 points per game, and that is also due to a quick start that they tend to get out of the blocks. They are generally outscoring opponents by almost 10 points per game this campaign. They also rank 6th in 3 points converted at almost 9 per game which shows you how much they depend on the 3 ball.
The Hornets came into the season thinking that they will be a top defensive team, but they still rank in the bottom half of that section. They have generally fared horribly on the road going 1-5 away but have found the new support for the Hornets buzzing as they post a 3-1 record at home. The biggest problem for the Hornets has been their scoring off the lineup. Other than Jefferson and Walker, no other player is averaging double digits. Lance Stephenson so far has been a bust of a signing, while he has done decently well on the defensive end, his offensive production is not what they Hornets would have been hoping for. The Hornets would be particularly de-motivated after losing a few games that they were leading in this season and in particular the way they were blown out by the Warriors by 25 points a few days ago.
The Hornets are definitely going to miss Kidd-Gilchrist, Gary Neal while Marvin Williams is struggling with a knee injury. Those factors plus an in-form Mavericks have got to make you believe they should wrap this up early in the 1st half itself.
