Cleveland Cavs vs New Orleans by Lloyds

The Cavs will host the New Orleans Pelicans, who are coming after pulling an upset against the Spurs in San Antonio (100-99). The home side will hoping to get back on 0.500 record while New Orleans will definitely try to repeat their performance from Texas and pull another stunner.

Cleveland just wrapped up their 4-game road trip, which they finished with a 2-2 record. The team struggled in matches against Portland and Utah as there was no team basketball which caused them to lose those games. Cleveland had only 6 assists against Utah but in their recent showdown against Denver they recorded season-high 25 to get a 110-101 victory. For them this will be the 2nd time they play at home this season, after a disappointing loss to New York on the opening night. To win in this match the Cavaliers will have to stop Anthony Davis and New Orleans' deadly paint scoring. Davis posted 27 points, 11 rebounds and 6 blocks against the Spurs which means that Cleveland's frontcourt must try keeping him from low post. New Orleans lead the NBA in scoring in the paint but having Kevin Love could prove as a key factor for Cleveland in tonight's match. Love usually has strong performances when facing New Orleans and tonight he will be ready to answer the challenge.

The hosts aren't at their best but the match against Denver showed that they will need to share the ball in order to win. I expect them to do the same against the Pelicans tonight and to get the first win in front of their fans this season.
