Hidden Loss / Low Odds
There are lots of criterion of professional betting and one of the most important criterion is to choose very best odds all over the internet. Is it really important as much as they said? To know it better, please go on reading.
# I live in a country where betting had not been allowed before the government established a local bookmaker. We all know that local bookmakers offers very low odds and most of them don’t allow single betting. Anyway, we suppose they offer single bets too. Below, I use their official odds from two bookmakers. One of them is from my local bookmaker and the other one is from an online bookmaker.
Local Bookmaker Offers:
CSKA MOSCOW v G. RANGERS 1.8 3.0 3.25
DYNAMO KIEV v TRABZONSPOR 1.8 3.0 3.25
PAOK v MAC. TEL AVIV 1.4 3.3 5.5
GAK v LIVERPOOL 3.5 3.1 1.7
Online Bookmaker Offers:
CSKA MOSCOW v G. RANGERS 2.00 3.20 3.40
DYNAMO KIEV v TRABZONSPOR 1.66 3.25 4.75
PAOK v MAC. TEL AVIV 1.61 3.40 5.00
GAK v LIVERPOOL 3.75 3.10 1.90
The first one is from a local bookmaker and the other one is from an online bookmaker which I personally do not bet at because I think they offer very low odds. Even if I think this online bookie offers very low odds according to the market, you can easily see that betting at a local bookmaker is non-sense and madness. No way. Do not waste your time with locals.
# Here there is another example between two online bookies.
Punter-A: Say Punter-A always bets on NBA games and uses a bookmaker which offers -110 (1.909 as decimal) for under/over and spreads. He had 1000$ starting balance and bet 50$ on each game. Finally, he had a record 52 won – 48 lost bets. According to -110 odds, we calculate the profit/loss he made:
Starting: 1000$
Staked: 5000$
Won: 4963$
Profit: -37$
Final Bankroll: 963$
Situation: -%3.7
Punter-B: Well, we have a more intelligent one, Punter-B who choose a bookmaker offers -107 (1.934 as decimal) for under/over and spreads. He had the same conditions -starting balance = 1000$ and at the end of the season he had 52 won – 48 lost bets. According to -107 odds, we calculate the profit/loss he made:
Starting: 1000$
Staked: 5000$
Won: 5028$
Profit: +28$
Final Bankroll: 1028$
Situation: +%2.8
In conclusion, as you see above Punter B made profit and Punter A lost his %3.7 balance. There is a big difference between two accounts. %6.5 difference between two accounts though they had the same record!!! This is really much for only 100 bets.
Consider you bet 5-6 bets a day on average and try to think about the money you lost just because of using a bookmaker which offers low odds according to market. Personally, I do never ever bet on a bookmaker which offers -110 for under/over and spreads.
BetShoot recommends you to have a few accounts at different bookmakers. Sometimes, bookmakers offer very different odds and you can catch the better odds at one of them while the others offer very low odds for the same game. Whether you have only one account at one bookmaker, it is really hard to make profit.
