The ‘switch hit’ penalty returns (vid)
Alexander Magnusson of Icelandic Grindavik managed to become famous thanks to the odd penalty executed to the game against Thor, where everyone tried to understand what he has done, as he changed leg!
Something similar had done also the Spaniard Ezequiel Calvente with the national Spain U19 team on July 24, 2010 to the match against Italy.
In the 70th minute of the match Grindavik vs Thor for the sixth game of the Icelandic league, Magnusson pretending that he will shoot with his right foot, but last second he changed his mind shooting with the left.
Thor’s Serbian goalkeeper, was surprised and was unable to respond. The trick of Magnusson made it 4-0 for his team. The guests were able to reduce the goals difference at 83th minute (4-1).
Note that Grindavik is at 8th place with 2 wins, 1 draw and 3 defeats. Enjoy the video:
