The most important sport events for summer 2013
A full summer is coming for those who want to spend their time watching their favorite sports. The absence of a World Cup or Euro does not mean that your only option for this summer is a beach, since there are dozens of alternatives, starting from the Confederations Cup, until EuroBasket in September. Football, basketball, volleyball, tennis, beach volleyball, athletics, motor sports and many more are included among the events that you can see below.
Confederations Cup (15/06 - 30/06)
Rehearsals of the World Cup in the most famous football country of the world, Brazil. "Selecao" and other major powers of world football, like the world champions, Spain, Italy and Uruguay are expected to offer an unstoppable football action, a year before the greatest football event of the planet. Eurobasket Women (15-30 June)
For the 4th time, France is hosting the 2013 EuroBasket Women tournament. Their objective is to return to the top of Europe, a title which lost in 2011 by Russia. The village Stare Jablonki in Poland hosts the 2013 World Championship of Beach Volleyball. The team of Brazil wants to maintain the lead from 2011 in Rome, both in men and women. Of course, Americans are lurking behind, while in women, a lot of European teams are included this season.
European Women Football Championship (10/07 - 28/07)
Germany wants to stand for the sixth time in a row at the top of Europe, as they are winning every year since 1995, having a total of seven titles in 10 events. This year they're threatened by the hosts, Sweden (1 title), Norway (2 titles) and France, which had a very good appearance at the Olympics.
2013 World Aquatics Championship (19/07 - 04/08)
The 15th world aquatics championship will take place in Barcelona. For 16 days will host swimming, water polo, diving and synchronized swimming events.
Beach volleyball European championship (30/07 - 04/08)
This year, the championship will be held at Klagenfurt, Austria. The competition will be tough enough, both for women and men, as the top couples of the world will be there to fight for a title.
Rally Finland (01/08 - 03/08)
After the Rally of Sardegna and the break all over July, comes the Rally of Finland, where Sebastien Loeb will re-appear, three months after the Rally of Argentina, where he reached the 1st position. World Athletics Championship (10/08 - 18/08)
For the first time, World Athletics Championship will be hosted in Russia and particularly in Moscow. The 14th edition, which will take place in Luzhniki Stadium, will host the greatest athletes on the planet, as all the big names of athletics will be in the Russian capital.
Vuelta a España (24/08 - 15/09)
The 68th edition of the Spain Tour begins from Galicia and ends in Madrid. It will include stages in Andorra and France, with ascent in Pyrenees. The 21 stages, cover a total distance of 3,319 kilometers and measuring an impressive number of 12 finishes at uphills. The 20th Stage is the most painful one, as the cyclists must climb Mount Angliru, one of the hardest mountains in global cycling.
US Open (26/08 - 09/09)
As always, Grand Slams are finishing on the hard court surface of New York. Andy Murray will try to defend the title he won in 2012, while Serena Williams, who impressed this year, looking to repeat last year's triumph, again in front of her audience and reach her 5th title. The finals in "Arthur Ashe" stadium are always impressive.
European Super Cup 2013 (30/08)

Eurobasket men (04/09 - 22/09)
In Slovenia, 24 teams will get in the battle for the title of European Champions. Among them is the National team of Greece, participating in the 4th group, with opponents like Sweden, Russia, Turkey, Italy and Finland.
