My favourite Goal Shy team of CC League 2 are back in action, with local rivals Rochdale making the short trip to The Deva Stadium tonight.
I've been thorough Chester's stats before but a quick update as follows:
Season At Home: W6 D6 L6 GF 19 GA 20 (GF Ave 10.5, GA Ave 1.11)
Last 5 At Home: W1 D3 L1 GF 4 GA 4 (GF Ave 0.80, GA Ave 0.80)
10 from last 11 league (12 from 13 in all comps) gone "Under".
(The one over was a 2-1 loss away to Mansfield just 10 days ago, but they since got back to low scoring ways, with a 1-0 loss (to a penalty) away to Walsall.)
Back at Home tonight and another low scoring affair looks on the cards, Experienced Striker Simon Yeo is rated very doubtful with an ankle injury along as is Dean Bennett (thigh).
The most disturbing fact though is that apart from Walters and Blundell (Who both no longer play for Chester) no player has more than 5 goals for the club this season. And 6 goals For in the last 13 games (In all Comps) shows their shortcomings up front well.
As I've said before, Chester have their reasonable defence to thank for not being further down the table.
Rochdale are a bit hit and miss when it comes to goals per game, with little consistency either way. Overall though they've played out 21 Unders and 14 Overs this season in the league so thats on our side. They've 3 clean sheets in last 4 games. They've also had some big scoring results in 2007 (4-0, 4-0, 5-0, 4-2) but all these have come at home.
Team news for stockport: Top Scorer Dagnall is out (Foot) as is captain Gary Jones (Knee) but they welcome back some defenders in Stanton and McArdle.
When these teams met earlier in the season it finished 0-0.
I think this game could go either way but I dont see a big scoreline, cant see 3 or more scored tonight. The Weather reports are for Rain too so that should help the cause.
Good Luck......
