Slesingr, junior world champion from 2002, showed verrrrry good form at this championship, finishing second in sprint and fourth in pursuit. I am very happy about his results, but today I have to go for Greis.

Despite Slesinger is a good skier, there is no doubt Greis is better. Micchi's results are far behind the expectations. Now he has only two chance left to bring home a medal from the individual race - today, in 20 km individual race, and on Saturday, in the mass race. He should be a member of the German relay team as well, so it is very probable he is going to have a medal from this race at least, but I think it is not enough for him.

Slesingr was doing very well in both individual races so far, but at the end of the pursuit it was obvious he was tired, what he admitted in the local newspapers yesterday. This race is going to be even tougher, as it is 20 km long. Bearing in mind Greis's hard one-week training at the end of January I expect his form getting better and better. So, my opinion is Micchi is going to be faster today.

Regarding shooting, I see them both at the same level. Greis had problems with shooting in the sprint, missing 3 targets, but the strong wind, changing its directions very often, caused problems to many othe biathletes. In the pursuit both Greis missed one more target than Slesingr. Anyway, shooting was usually the main problem of Slesingr - the reason he was only in the third ten in the world cup - and I think he will not be able to repeat his almost faultless performance from the last two races - what should give Greis a good opportunity to beat him. Adding Gres's motivation, I have to take this pick with a high stake.
