Ajax have won all but 3 home league games this season and would be pumped up for this one having known AZ did the league a favor by turning over PSV yesterday. An Ajax win here would cut PSV’s lead to 5 points. They welcome Feyenoord, a side that are a far cry to that of previous seasons and more importantly, an inconsistent away side. Even in the reverse fixture, Ajax condemned Feyenoord to a 4-0 defeat. Ajax had conceded just 3 goals in their previous 9 games at home against Dutch opposition and would more than relish Feyenoord’s visit, who themselves have shipped 17 goals in 6 away games against local opposition, conceding an average of almost 3 goals per match. If they were to repeat their feat here, it would almost surely lead to an embarrassing result once more, a likely repeat of the 4-0 success earlier in the season. Matches between these 2 clubs are usually competitive but I have to admit I have seen nothing to suggest Ajax would let this golden opportunity slip and have to favor them to come away winners at the end of 90 minutes. Not even a misfiring Huntelaar could dissuade me. Ajax to win 2-0.
