Russia vs France
First biathlon race of the new year (BTW, I wish you all a happy and prosperous 2007). It might be better to wait for some results after the short break, but I simply cannot skip this bet.

In the last relay race Russia lost to France thanks to great shooting of French girls (RUS 9 misses - FRA 2 misses). I do not think France will be able to repeat that performance again. There is 94% probability of fog in Oberstdorf, what should suit the Russian biathletes, as they are well known for their good shooting in bad weather.

Besides, Russians are much better skiers. It would be really a huge suprise for me if France finished in front of Russia.
