The Nightmare could be closer to becomming a reality for the NBA Commisioner as the two sides the NBA want in the Finals series in the Lakers and Celtics now match up against the two sides the NBA don't want in the Finals series the Pistons and Spurs,personally I think the Spurs and Pistons should be applauded,both sides have pretty much ruled the roost over there more fancied opponents for years now and both have created winning traditions in their own Sides,I know the NBA want the return to the old Lakers/Celtics rivalry but lets hear it for the two sides who have regualy been fixtures of the Finals and have both won titles and ruled over all the other teams in their respective Confrences for years.

This was always going to be the final in the East,the Pistons against the Celtics there could be no other possible final,this could be the end of an era or the same old same old after this series,the Celtics could become one of the Strongest teams in the East for years to come if they can get past the Pistons,while for the Pistons it is still very much a chance to say to everyone including the Celtics,We are still the Kings of the East,this series is very good looking and i'm looking forward to it.

The Celtics have been winning on their Home floor but one of their big 3 stars has not been doing the job for them in Ray Allen,but his turn to shine could still come about if the Celtics are to get past the Pistons,the Pistons have played 3 extra games while the Pistons have been sitting and waiting for them to finish their series and let them have a crack at them,at home Boston seem invincible but they are yet to win on the road and they now face a Pistons team who can win where ever they play and they have shown it,even without Billups they were still good enough to down the Magic and now they get Billups back for this series,this looks like about as defensive as it can get in the NBA,both sides are ranked 1st(Detroit) and 2nd(Boston) in defence,Detroit have the best defence on the road in the NBA while the Celtics have the best home defence in the NBA,on average both sides score 97(Detroit) and 100(Boston) points per game,both sides average 90 points against per game,Boston average 1 more defensive rebound per game while the Pistons average 1 more offensive rebound than the Celtics per game,both sides on average turn the ball over 5 times a peice in their games and both sides average 8 (Boston) and 7(Pistons) Steals per game,so all in all this series looks tight,very tight.

It's intresting to note that in this series like the last the Cavs had an amasingly good record against the Celtics and so do the Pistons,the Pistons have won 4 of their last 5 in Boston but lost both matches this season against them including their last game in Boston 78-90,the over and under situation in these matches is as you'd expect with 8 of the last 10 staying under the total,it's also intresting to note that although the Pistons have alot of mid range jumpers in their side that they actually have made more 3 points shots than the Celtics.

This series is very tough to call and i'm looking for the Pistons to come out here rested and ready against the Celtics and to snacth game 1 off them,the Pistons have been resting and sometimes that can be a bad thing,but the Celtics have been playing some very tough matches against the Cavs and although that could see them come into this game in Good form i also think the Pistons are a very tough side to play against and will come out here today to get some momentum going for themselves early in this series to give them the upper hand and they can do it ,you can't disagree with that,if any side can get to another side and upset their rythym it's the Pistons and in game 1 of this series i'll throw $100 on them to see if they can get up....Take the Pistons...Good Luck.
