Mariners have not been fulfiling the ambitions they definitely need to have. But I expect an imediate improvement.

He pitched four innings for Double-A Frisco on a medical rehabilitation assignment on Saturday and allowed one run on one hit and three walks in four innings. He struck out six. He has a 5.59 ERA in three career appearances against the Mariners.

Mariners: The right-hander is coming off the worst outing of the season and one of the worst of his young career, a 12-hit, six-earned-run debacle against the Yankees in New York. The 12 hits were the second-most Hernandez has surrendered in his 80-start MLB career. It was the first time this season that a Seattle starter showed signs of being frustrated because of the continuing lack of run support. Hernandez has not fared particularly well against the White Sox. He is 1-1 with a 5.01 ERA in four career starts.
