If there is going to be a massive upset this week then this is the match to spring it,the Highlanders return home after a good tour of SA in which they picked up a win over the Cheetahs last week t finish their travels on a high note and now return home to face the Blues in a match in which the Blues season hinges on the result,they need to win and gain 5 points,that willl not be easy and this match takes on added importance for the Highlanders as this match is also for the Collin Cooper Trophy,the former stalwart Coach of Otago Rugby and a man who they liove in the deep south,I have a funny feeling that the Highlanders after a season to forget might just pull one out tonight.

The Highlanders just hung on last week and although not getting enough credit for a side that is comprised of bit players from around the Country from all different provinces they have played well this season and would like nothing more than to win here and win the trophy back from the Blues,they survived last week and were up by plenty last week against the Cheetahs before having two send offs and only just hanging on to win,but they did win and that will have them up and ready for todays game I think.

The Blues have dropped Toeava and brought back in Stanley who has had a great season,but the Blues have been playing far better through their forwards and will look to gain dominance there before spreading the ball and against the Highlanders that won;t be easy,the Blues havea gigantic forward pack and speedy backs but this match is a dangerous one for them,they have everything to play for and could be drawn into a forward battle and against the Highlanders that is not a good idea,the longer the Highlanders stay in the game the more confident they will grow and the Blues could have to force the issue and from there the Highlanders could just get up.

Recent results and the Blues have the wood on the Highlanders winning 2 of the last 3 but their last match in the deep South they lost to the Highlanders 25-13.

I feel an upset on the cards here and would'nt be to surprised if the Highlanders won this match for their former passed away Coach,the Highlanders play very well in these games for this trophy and I expect them to lift for this game,take the Start to stay safe but also look at having a small pount on the Highlanders to win this one outright...Good Luck.
