Quarterfinal match between Peter Ebdon and Ali Carter

Hmm,what to say...



Peter Ebdon played against Mark King and won 13-9. It was a though match for Ebdon cause he couldn't always keep Mark away from his attacking style of play. I have expected Ebdon to be more determine, expected he will from the first frame play very tactic game. He played but it wasn't on the level as we can expect from Ebdon, but it was good. King on the other side wasn't playing as good as against Selby, however he was dangerous throughout whole match. Finally, Ebdon's patience and tactic lead him to quarter finals.

Carter has beaten Murphy 13-4. Just one word. AMAZING. That is the best performance I have ever seen from Carter, one of the best performance in this year's Cruciable, beside Ronnies last session vs Williams and Maguire's first session vs Robertson. Carter surprised me enormously, even more than that. It's a fact that Murphy wasn't playing at his level, but still it has been wonderful performance from Carter.

Because of that I give Carter more chance to qualify for the semis. If Carter repeats that kind of performance than Ebdon has no chance. Still, I am not sure if Carter will do it and I know what are the capacities of Ebdon. However, Carter beside his potting ability is very good safety player with fine tactic so if he is going to be patient Ebdon could find himself in a very big troubles.

However, only medium stakes, Ebdon is and well experienced player and wouldn't be surprise see him as a winner of this match.
