Southend is for me the team of the league in the second half of the season. Their current run is impressive. Their records in last six games were 5-1-0. They lastly loose a game 14 matches ago and won the 10 of those 13 games. They last week beat second place Carlisle 2-1 on the road and helped Swansea to confirm their championship. They put big pressure on the Carlisle where home team rarely threatened their keeper.

Tranmere’s play off hopes ended after they lost to Huddersfield last week. They failed to create chances in that game. They lost their last three matches before this game. Tranmere’s some important players are doubtful before this game. Southend manager announced that he won’t chance his squad and won’t rest any of his experienced players for play offs.

Southens still has small chance for direct promotion. Last week they will have an easy game against relegated Port Vale and in an unpredictable league they will challenge their chances until the last week. Against out form and unmotivated Tranmere they are my favorite here.
