Western Bulldogs v West Coast

The Bulldogs should win this match as the Eagles will not win more than 6-7 for the entire year and those wins will more than likely come at home. The Dogs weren’t so good last week against the Tigers yet somehow came away with a draw. This week they get back Scott West which is a massive in for them, though there is still doubt over whether Brad Johnson will play or not. The good thing for the Bulldogs is that Johnson has struggled a bit lately yet they are still winning (or more precisely not losing) so even if he is a late withdrawal they have enough firepower to win the match.

I expect the Eagles to be good here for a while as they need to show something for their supporters and even themselves. The problem is that the Eagles cannot score; they have not many more points for the season than Melbourne (371) while the Bulldogs are the second highest scoring team in the competition (670) behind Geelong. How can the Eagles kick more goals than the Dogs at Telstra Dome in perfect conditions? They can’t particularly after Rocket Eade lived up to his name this week by putting a rocket up those Bulldogs feeling a little complacent (Gilbee, Griffen and the team in general).

The Eagles are inexperienced for this match up and youthful exuberance will keep them competitive for a while, the Dogs will win and should win well. 120 - 80.
