Barcelonas form this season after the last few seasons and also with the addition of Henry has not been anywhere near what many may of thought, now they are out of the race for the Primera and but for a very lucky draw against Schalke and Celtic, their team on paper still looks great but has not been in the same form we are used to seeing from them over the last few seasons,to many starts could be a reason but Henry may not play today and Puyol definitly won't be in the side,Messi comes back today which is a massive bonus for Barca, but they will need to up their game of late if their are to force the issue with the Red Devils who are probaly the best performing side in Europe right now.
United have a very strong side to choose from and will play Rooney and Ronaldo if their website be believed, they also get Van Der Sar for today, infact without going to much indepth here United are pretty much at ful strenght for todays match.Theres not to much to say about United really, they are in the better form leading into this match even though they only managed a draw with Rovers on the weekend and unless Barcelone turn around the last couple of months form they are in with little to no chance here overn the two games.
In Barcelonas last 5 home CL Matches they have lost none and have won all 5 scoring 19 goals and conceeding only 2,Manchester Uniteds last 5 away matches in the CL have also been perfect with not one loss, they won 3 and drew 2.scoring 9 and conceeding 4.Barcelona and United have met 7 times in European Cup compeittion with a goal difference of 15-13 to the Spaniards, both sides have won twice while 3 matches have resulted in draws. Both sides are unbeaten this CL season and it's also intrersting to note that both sides have won their last 3 CL matches without conceeding a single goal.
I have a feeling that this game might not be as open as many seem to be thinking,United have more spped than their opponents here today but taking Barcelonas great attacking threat not to seriously would be a massive mistake and I don't think that Sir Alex is no mug and won't for one minutie forget about that aspect of playing against Barcelona,I think United will be more than happy to sit back and wait for their chance to come and then try and take it,I firmly believe that this match will end in a draw or United will win it,but I expect the game itself to be a pretty dire affair as Ubited will more than likely wait untill they return home to Old trafford to stake their claim to a CL Finals place...Take the Draw...Good Luck.
