Thiago Neves is a regular starter, and one of the key players and one of the favourites by the fans, not a substitute like Cicero. He has been frequently called by Dunga to Selecao. After Liga de Quito lost yesterday in Paraguay, Fluminense has all chances to win the group. Tonight they play away at Arsenal Sarandi, a weak Argentine side (they were 13. in Apertura and now again 13. in Clausura). Fluminense plays in the semi-finals of Carioca, Taca Rio against Vasco da Gama on Saturday. In this group the situation is pretty clear, as Fluminense (probably as first) and Quito reached next round. Arsenal has 3 defeats so far, 0-6 in Rio, 1-6 in Quito and 0-1 at home vs. Liga de Quito. For this game coach Gustavo Alfaro will rest most of his regular players, only 3 or 4 will play, the others will be players, who played only a couple of games or young players, who never played on this level. On the other side, Fluminense is taking very seriously this game, they want a win to finish first in the group, that secures the second game at home for the next round. In this game they will miss their striking duo Dodo and Washington, but their replacements Neves and Cicero are good enough for Arsenal.
I am sure, quality and motivation will prevail in this game, so I take the Brazilians with medium-high stakes. 0-1, 0-2 is my call.
