I'm off down to Taranaki back to my Marae which for those who don't know that is where my Family go's to for Family or Tribal Afairs for the next 5 days,I leave on Friday Morning and won't be back untill next Wedesday but I have'nt been back for a while and i'll get to hang out with all my family down there and go fishing, hunting, smoking, riding our horses and surfing as our Marae is right on the "Surf Highway"in the Naki,i'm looking forward to it alot as it's always a good time,so we'll have to get stuck in now for this weekends Tips,a few tonight and some more tomorrow.
I've decided to lok at the big bets tonight and do the rest tomorrow.
Well last week again the Warriors got up but they were helped alot by the ref and penalty count and also by the possesion count which could be put back to the Ref once again, however the Knights even with little to no quality ball still came back and were only 2 down at the break and only lost after almost snacthing a draw in the closing seconds,I still think that effort by the Warriors is just not good enougfh and although they won that game I think they will still strugle against a Bulldogs side if they can get an equal amount of Possesion.
Still no Price,Ropati or Mc'Kinnion for the Warriors and although the Warriors won last weekend they still have a long road to toll as far as i'm concerned,Wiki finally ran last week without stopping before the line before contact but there are signs for the Warriors that all is not good at all in their side, not morale wise but form wise, the amount of possesion they had in that first half they should of been up for so much at half time that the Knight sshould of never been able to even be i that match and yet with the Knights 28% of possesion in that first half they still managed to score two trys and be down by only 2 at the break and if not for bad goal kicking could of gone to Golden Point again for the 3rd time in 3 weeks, not good enough from the Warriors i'm afraid, not good enough at all.
The Bulldogs got hammered last week by Willie Mason and the Roosters but I expect them to bounce back in a big way this week in Auckland, the Bulldogs are a good side and even though they were well beaten I still think they have more than enough abilty to get the Warriors here today, really last week the Roosters were just on another planet compared to the Bulldogs and I think that with the Club turmoil going on right now that this Bulldoigs side will come together and do the right thing this week by Steve Folkes, they have a better forward pack than the Warriors and a better Centre pairing and unless Vatuvei has an absolout blinder I can see the Bulldogs running out handsome winners here today.Tsoulous replaces Cleal which is a bit of a loss and Maitua is named on the bench would should see him get alot of game time.
The Warriors have not beaten the Bulldogs in Auckland since 2003 and have lost their last 6 against them at any venue.
I'm giving this game to the Bulldogs mainly because i can't see anyone in the Warriors side who can contain Williams and that is a problem,if the Warriors gang tackle him they will conceed penalties and also give up valuble meters from Dummy half and also take inot account the Kiwi factor here for the Doggies as they trend to play better in front of family and friends,I stilll view the Warriors as being a few players short and they are still not looking composed in attack, possesion and the ref helped them get a huge advantage against the Knights as the Knight made more than 45 tackles more than the Warriors in that firsy half,Buderus was injured for almost all of the second half and was'nt running the ball from dummy half and that won't be lost on the Bulldogs that even with al that possesion and advantages given to them by the ref that the Knights still were never out of the game,I think Patten is safe at the back,ElMasri will kick the goals for them and Williams will tear them to shreds on the left side of the Warriors line...Bulldogs win for me..Good Luck.
