WTA - Jelena Jankovic vs Serena Williams Tennis betting preview

We have got a wonderful 7 hours of live sport coming up today to get some money stuck into. The 1st FA Cup semi final is about to kick off, A full programme of domestic football to follow, The Grand National and then the Womens tennis final at 5pm from Miami, All this and then a night on the lash with the boys!!! Does it get any better??

I am going to go with one of my speculative punts again in the tennis, Correct score 1st set betting and go in favour of the underdog Jelena Jankovic.

Jelena Jankovic is regarded as one of the nicest women on and off the court in tennis and id love to see her win here in Miami....but can she?? Jankovic has had a fairly comfortable passage thorough to the final with only Arvidsson putting her under any real pressure back in the 2nd round, It means that maybe JJ should come into this match pretty fresh. JJ will be confident she can win here and with a 3-2 H2H lead the stats suggest she has a better chance than many think. Earlier this year JJ won in straight sets in the Australian Open Q/F although Serena had just overcome an injury.

Serena is a funny girl to bet on, her Miami record is amazing and her recent hard court form suggests she is a worthy favourite. Serenas Semi Final was quite a bizarre affair against Kuznetsova, She flew out of the trap to break in the opening game and at 40-15 up with serve looked as though she could blow Kuznetsova away, 20 minutes later though she was 4-1 and complaining of a back injury. Whether the injury was in her back or it her head i guess we will never know, but she played on. lost the opening set before eventually winning the match 2 set to 1.

If JJ can get off to a good start tonight she could easily rattle Serena in the opening set and then we will get to see if Serena is mentally strong enough, something that is from time to time debatable. We mustn't forget Serena lost the opening set here 6-0 last year but still went on to win the match.

Im hoping JJ will catch Serena a little cold in the opening set and am going for very small stakes to back her to win it comfortably. The prices are big but its certainly not a totally no chance bet, As ive said in the past i believe long term if you hit the right matches profits can be made with these kind of bets.
