Osana was one of my best bets of the Cheltenham festival. He was a very good 1 length second to Champion Hurdle winner Katchit, and I lost fortunes on him that day, and if he had have got up I would have won well into 4 figures. Today he faces the Aintree track for the 2nd time in his relatively short career as he was a close up 2nd here in the 2 mile novice hurdle last year. In my opinion he is the best hurdler in show here today as Katchit doesn't run ( and who is 10lbs better at Cheltenham anyway ), and his main rival id dual winner of this race Al Eile. This Irish trained son of Alzao has been trained with this race specifically in mind. He has won round here 3 out of 4 runs and is a dual winner of this race. Now, in my opinion, this horse has to be a superstar to win this race for an unprecendented 3 times, and I don't think he is a superstar.

I love this horse Osana, and he has a perfect proflie for this race, as he has had a very light season ( just 3 runs ) and ran a fantastic race at Cheltenham, where he fought back to very nearly get up on the line after looking beaten some way out. That showed to me 2 things.

1 - the horse has class and guts, as most animals once headed give up the ghost and just give up.

2 - He stays further than 2 miles. He has won over 2 miles before, and the way he ran at Cheltenham suggests that he will get this trip with relish and eat up the ground.

I personally don't think he has anything of note to beat, and I am betting this horse with a very VERY big bet, one of my biggest bets for a very long time, as I simply cannot see what is going to beat him.
