GS Warriors host the Dallas Mavericks tonight. MY honest opinion about the current situation is this: No Dirk, no playoffs !

GS Warriors are just 1 game behind the Dallas Mavericks, who are tied with the Nuggets on the last playoff spot in the Western conference. Since all 3 teams will have home-and-home meeting, these duels will decide the 2 winners and the loser. The Warriors have been alternating wins and losses lately: lost against Rockets, won against Lakers, lost against Lakers, won against Trailblazers and finally lost against Nuggets away. But tonight, they will face an opponent that currently is weaker than the Nuggets, Lakers or Rockets in my opinion.

Dallas Mavericks missing the playoffs would be a disaster. But the situation is more than realistic, it is even probable. With a hard schedule and h2h clashes with their contenders, with their star player missing, and other starters not in their best forms, i smell trouble for them. Dallas lost 3 of 4 at home against Lakers, Celtics and Spurs, winning only the last one against poor Clippers, and in the final match traveled to the Nuggets in one of the 4 clashes of the end-season and lost by 13 points. Despite Howard's and Kidd's excellent performances, and despite their better shooting percentage, they still lost by DD, and tonight i expect a similar outcome. The Mavercks had a bit more time to rest, but they are playing away where they are usually weaker and are without their main weapon. The hosts have the motivation and the value to win with their fast style, and tonight i believe they will. Better luck in Dallas, Mavericks! Good luck.
