OK. Portland Trailblazers host the Charlotte Bobcats.

The Trailblazers are out of the playoff race, being 6 1/2 games below the line in the Western Conference. Portland won 3 of their last 5 games, but 2 of them were against the poor Clippers and one against uninterested Wizards at home; now, Brandon Roy got injured and will be missing for at least 2 weeks, and it was visible in the 16-point defeat at GS Warriors in the last game. No motivation on the hosts side, and despite their good home record, i believe they shouldn't be 5-point favorites tonight.

The Charlotte Bobcats are 5 games behind the Atlanta Hawks, the occupiers of the last playoff spot. With 10 games to go, many would say the race is over. But i believe the Bobcats have a chance here, as they have a very easy schedule in these last games, compared to the other contenders: they will be hosting Raptors, Cavaliers, Timberwolves, Celtics and 76ers and will be traveling to Trailblazers, Raptors, Knicks, Pacers and Nets. The first step was taken last night in the 3-point victory at Seattle. This makes the 2nd road win in a row for them, after the amazing win in LA against the Lakers. I still believe that with some focus and decent shooting, the Bobcats can win6 or 7 of these last 10, and adding some miracle luck for their opponents to lost, they might just have a chance. But, they have to take the games 1 by 1, and tonight the Trailblazers are the focus. With Roy out, the Bobcats' chances have certainly increased.

Another reason is related to the first match, when the Bobcats won in Charlotte 101-92. In that match, the Bobcats defense managed to block Aldridge excellently, keeping him at 7 points in 20 minutes of play. Wallace, Richardson and Felton had over 20 points in that game, and the win was deserved. Now Roy is out and Aldridge is just off an injury ,that made him play under 30 minutes at GS in their last game. Without him in top form and with Roy missing, i really believe the Bobcats have a chance here. Wallace did not have a good game against the Supersonics, but tonight i expect him to put 25+ points. Since Richardson is in a great form, i expect these two to lead their team to victory for the third time away from home. After this game, the Bobcats will play at home against Raptors and Cavaliers, so i expect them to give their best tonight, and get a win for the hope. Good luck.
