A small stake special bet for tonight’s St.Kilda Carlton match is for Carlton man Andrew Carrazzo to get the most disposals.

He has been a ball machine for the last 2 years sweeping across the half back line and the midfield. He has a big motor and gets plenty of game time so is always a chance to get 30 or more. From his own team, he is up against Chris Judd, Nick Stevens and Heath Scotland. Scotland won’t be tagged, neither will Carrazzo. I expect the Saints to tag both Judd and Stevens and both are still short of match practice and will require stints on the bench as they will be working hard to shake their tags. Scotland is unlikely as the Saints pressure well through the midfield and push back meaning anyone loose across Carlton’s half back line is most likely to pick up plenty. This is Carrazzo’s usual position. He had 25 touches last week behind Bret Thornton who is not offered here and will be required to play more defensively on one of Koschitzke or Gehrig. The last time these two teams met, Carrazzo won the most disposals with 38 in a St.Kilda win.

The Saints have many options through the midfield and tend to share the ball around a lot, so never any real standout. Luke Ball is also trying to find match fitness and he is the long shot at 14.00, Dal Santo and Montagna will most likely be tagged while Hayes is a chance but unlikely. Last week for the Saints, Sam Fisher and Jarryn Geary were the top disposal winners and neither is offered. Leigh Montagna is my main worry here, but I expect the Saints to pressure the midfield and push Carrazzo into the backline where the ball will be for a fair bit of the match to find his touches. There they will let him have as many as he wants, particularly when he is matched up with either Milne or Schneider who aren’t known for their great defensive work.
