Martin Kaymer has had a great season so far after being named the first ever german to win rooke of the year last year. He has played only 5 times this year, and won on his first outing at the Abu Dhabi Championship which was a great effort on his first full season on tour. He then went on to miss a cut in his next start at Qatar, but then came back amazingly well to finish runner up in the Dubai Desert Classic. Since then he has had a tough time of things finishing well down the field with a 33rd and a 57th to his name. Now I'm not suggesting he is finished for the season this early on in the term, but I am saying that he has probably done his winning for the year, and will find things a it tougher now the season has "properly" underway, and is back on european soil.

My tip to beat him over 72 holes is the likeable 35 year old Philip Archer with a 2 shot lead. Archer has never really set the world alite but has been solid enough over the years, and is actually in decent form this year too with a 17th and a 9th either side of a missed cut to his name in his last 3 outings. The stat that makes this bet a stand out though is the fact that he was 2nd in this tournamnet last year only 2 shots behind the winner Lee Westwood. I would fancy Archer to beat Kaymer on the outright anyway, but with a 2 shot lead it is a nice big bet for me.
