Here's the situation for Gretna, i'll copy/paste some from BBC:
"The Inland Revenue had been pursuing a £350,000 debt.
Two former managers are seeking payments of £800,000 and £100,000, while the club are in arrears with ground-sharing payments to Motherwell. "
"Only eight of the 17 senior players remaining on the books at Gretna have deals that run beyond the end of this season.
But all contracts have been breached by the non-payment of wages and players would be within their rights to seek new clubs right away. "
As you can see situation in club isn't bright, Gretna is on the verge of bankrupt and there is no one willing to invest in them. Situation with the team also isn't bright as there are only few senior players that stayed with team. Here's another quote, Gretna administrator David Elliot:
"I can't insist that the players play if they haven't been paid and I can't pay them on Monday either. Failure to play on Saturday would mean we are in breach of league rules and would leave us open to be fined and face other penalties.
Unfortunately we are running out of time."
Main aim is to go beyond weekend and meet Celtic at home next week which should bring some money into club, but problem is who will play tomorrow.
Aberdeen isn't anything special, but they have their ups and downs, and usually they manage to beat teams that are weaker then them. Gretna on the other side was the worst away team even when they didn't had problems: W1-D2-L11 12:37. Meetings this season:
2007-12-26 Gretna 1-1 Aberdeen
2007-09-29 Aberdeen 2-0 Gretna
Aberdeen didn't won in league since 2nd of January and it's really time to win something. Against this Gretna, if game goes through i think this handicap should be easily beaten. Last five Gretna's away games ended with two or more goals difference and i don't expect anything to change here. Aberdeen to win by two or more.
