We've got 2 teams fighting for the playoffs. Flyers are just 1 point behind Rangers and have won 3 consecutive matches beating Sabres, Senators and Islanders on the way. Out of those three only Ottawa was higher up in the table and had more points, but then again Ottawa are going through a tough time,reminds me of Detroit. But as we well know in NHL most teams have their ups and downs, when you play so many games that's natural, you can not stay focused on every single game. I remember due to the fine display in the beginning of the season Detroit and Ottawa had massive lead at the top of their respective Conferences, that's not the case anymore.

Flyers come off a good win against Islanders 4-1 and that was their 3rd win in a row. Not long ago they were 0-8-2 but seems like they've picked up since. They come into this game with their usual injury suspects Simon Gagne, Derian Hatcher, Joffrey Lupul, Jaroslav Modry, Mike Richards and Denis Tolpeko. Flyers are ranked 2nd in power play and 16th in penalty kill, but they are very inconsistent. But they've won only 1 out of last 5 Vs Rangers, that 6-2 win coming back in Jan 08. They've lost last 2 meetings 2-0 and 4-0 respectively with last game played in Philadelphia! Flyers goalie Martin Biron is 0-3-1 with a 2.89 GAA in his last five appearances against the Rangers.

Man for man I think Rangers are the better team. Gomez, Drury, Shanahan, Jagr and Co. look a strong unit to me. They're coming off a win against Carolina 4-2. It was great performance and a good win with Shanahan, Drury, Avery and Dubinsky on the score sheet time and again. They lead the game 3-0 in the beginning of the 2nd period but as always they let their opononets put couple past them. Goalie Lundqvist has been oustanding recently he is 5-0-1 with a 1.97 goals-against average and one shutout in his last six starts! Lundqvist is 8-3-1 with a 2.96 GAA in 13 career starts against the Flyers but lost 6-2 in his last meeting with them on Jan. 10 at Madison Square Garden. Rangers have won 3 in a row defeating Carolina, Panthers and Sabres, scoring 13 and conceding only 5!

Rangers have won 4 out of last 5 and are 6-0-2 in their last 8!

I don't expect this to be an easy game. Both teams know what's at stake and will be doing their best to win tonight's game. I'm gonna go with Rangers as they are a more consistent team out of the two at the moment. Also I reckon Lundqvist will come up big tonight and will be the difference between the teams. Season series point to a Rangers win too. Rangers win in regulation is my choice. Good luck!
