Ethnikos Achnas comes from a convincing 2-0 win against E.N.P. one of the best teams in the championship. Apoel comes of a 3-0 win against Alki, where they actually struggled and the result is not representative of the game. Alki was applying the pressure, and Apoel was defending almost the whole game, and got away with a win from two fouls and a counterattack.

Apoel is not playing very good lately and they will be facing a high flying Ethnikos, who traditionally in their stadium they have been able to beat anyone. Odds of 1.40 on Apoel by almost all bookies, even 1.35 in Cyprus are ridiculous in my opinion. Apoel should be paying almost 2 to 1 based on both its form and also the fact that they lost the "brain" of the team, Fernandez who was just sold to a Ukranian team. Fernandez was perhaps single handedly responsible for at least a third of Apoel's wins last year and this year, by dishing out assists, scoring at critical points, and in my opinion it was a matter of time till a bigger team picked him up because he was a class above the players here in Cyprus.

I believe that today Fernandez's absent will be missed even more, and things are much more difficult for Apoel than what the odds are suggesting. Double chance on Ethnikos at over 2 to 1 is great odds, and I will entertain myself with a small bet today. Besides, to be honest with you without offending anybody Apoel is a favorite team by the gamblers here in Cyprus and I wouldn't be surprised if the price of 1.40 was driven down by them.
