I dont normally like to tread on peoples toes and after 'Sankekur' wrote this up i was simple going to add that i agree 100% with them on this one on the message part of his thread, But after we called the Schaivone 2-0 yesterday at 21.0 their might be a couple of people waiting for my take on this match....so here goes.

Schiavone produced some wonderful all round tennis yesterday to defeat Justine Henin in straight set 7-6 7-6. Of course nerves got to her a little bit towards the end but she showed great courage when it looked like she had thrown away a 5-2 lead in the 2nd set. (thankfully for us 2-0 backers she didnt)

Dementieva produced a spirited fight back in her Q/F yesterday to come back from a set down to defeat Ivanovic 5-7 6-3 6-3. If i was to compare the 2 matches i would have to say that the better tennis was played in the Schiavone/Henin match by some margain.

On the head to heads we see there isnt much between either player, in fact Schiavone has won the latest 3 meeting between them, albeit 2 of which were on carpet.

Why Dementieva should be odds on to win in straight sets and Schiavone 5.5 is something i really dont understand so the value is certainly with the underdog here. If Schiavone can carry the form and belief she had yesterday we may well get a good run for our money.

Personally i think an 8/10 stake is a little high on this match (no offence meant) but will match Sankekurs stake as i wouldnt wish to encourage or discourage anyone who may wish to bet on this any further.
