Kuznetsova played some very good very clever tennis yesterday against Mauresmo to win through in straight sets, Mauresmo tried to mix it up but Kuznetsova was still able to see her off comfortably.
We cant really judge Jankovic on yesterdays performance as Chakvetdaze was obviously troubled by injury long before she retired, but from what we did she their doesnt seem to be much wrong with Jankovics game.
This promises to be a close match up for a place in the semi final and although Jankovic won last time they met it was on clay so im prepared to dismiss that. In all hard court meeting Kuznetsova hows a slight edge and has won the opening set in all the meetings i think.
I fancy Kuznetsova to settle a little quicker in this match and also fancy Kuznetsova to be able to defend her serve a little better than Jankovic today, im going to go for a small punt on Kuznetsova to win the opening set in this one today.
