Italian Francesca Schavione really impressed me much in this tour, and after yesterday win 7:6, 7:6 over Justine Henin I decided to bet on her with Dementieva, who eliminated Ivanovic last days but still in my opinion play bad tennis at this point. Schavione in this tour already proved her vault. Bartoli and Bammer are quite strong opponents and Henin is amazing win. Even when Henin is in bad form, you need to have real smart strategy and nice game to beat her and Francesca showed that. Very calm game, slowly turning Henin in her own traps and errors. Dementieva in all matches had to defend her break points many times. With Schnyder 10, with Alona only one (that Ukrainian used) but let's face it that Bondarenko was nothing on court, because of her fatal form. With Ivanovic, ladies showed a real error parade. 14 break points chances and 9 double faults on Elena side, that means something. Even the serve stats are better on Italian side, so in my opinion if Schavione will use her experience and current form like she did with Henin, Dementieva with such game won't be able to bite a set. H2h is 3:3 and Schavione once was able to beat 2:0 Elena, so why she will not do this tomorrow?
